2021 is Here!

2021 is Here!

Out with the Old and In with the New!

Happy New Year!

Out with the Old and in with the new; a phrase that has new meaning after the experiences of the past year! Goodby 2020!

2021 – A fresh start – A new year!

I love the beginning of new things, and the new year is like the big daddy of all new things!

I’ve been doing a mental review of 2020 for the past few weeks. Remember last year, we were all excited to be entering a new decade, the 2020s. None of us could have anticipated what that new beginning would bring. In fact, 2020 brought lots of new things with it. When hearing about the TP shortage, my thought was, “surely this will not be a problem here.” You see we live in a small community, and I just couldn’t comprehend a TP shortage. And then to my surprise, there it was, and we were not exempt. So…. that was new.

I know everyone has their own list of new experiences in 2020 and I refuse to dwell! At least I refuse to dwell on the new things that I didn’t like. I prefer to spend some time for all the things that I’m grateful for. Believe it or not, my list of good things for 2020 is long, and I’m grateful for each and every one!

Travel

In addition to our Maui trip, we were able to travel to Breckinridge Colorado and celebrate with our niece as she married her love in June! And we braved another trip to visit my sister in Minnesota in September. On our way home from Minnesota, we visited Mount Rushmore in South Dakota and Devils Tower in Wyoming. We had never been to see either. Although COVID traveling was definitely a new thing! We were smart and safe and probably a little bit lucky too. And grateful for the opportunity to travel.

Personal & Family

I didn’t lose weight, but I didn’t gain any either! I’ll count that as an accomplishment.

We cut the cord with our TV provider and are now almost commercial free with Netflix, Disney + and Amazon. I did have to get something to watch my Hallmark Christmas movies on, so I do have a tiny bit of commercials.

I stopped watching the news. I have an app for weather, and I can check the internet for news information that is more suited to what I want to know. I’m much happier!

My son and his family moved to the DC area. My son is in a master’s degree program for a year and decided to bring the family. They’re having a great adventure, although a very different one then they had hoped for.

My other son lost his bartender job in March and moved in with us in August. We are so grateful that we can help him, and I love having him here!

I started meditating daily. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time. As of today, I have managed 186 days in a row!

Art & Business

I completed my second 100 day project. Both of my 100 day projects have been watercolor projects; the first was faces, and the second one was “Watercolor Wings”. I see another watercolor project coming in 2021!

I started teaching my classes online via Zoom. Another item that has been on my want to do list for a long time! I think I have COVID to thank for that.

I created a Quick Start Zentangle class to introduce people to the Zentangle Method and my website emails. It has been a long time in the planning stage so I’m super happy to have completed it in 2020!

I started doing Facebook live videos showing me drawing. I’m still a novice at the live thing but I’m getting better all the time!

Thank You!

Last but certainly not least; my following on my website and social media increased quite a bit, and my friends list grew too! I’m so very grateful for every one of the beautiful souls who like, comment & share my posts on social and watch my videos on YouTube. For all the sweet friends who choose to sign up for emails and follow me: Thank you!

Well, that’s my list. I know there’s more, but these were the most notable. I love to look back and remember all the things I accomplished, all the people I’ve connected with, and all those things I’m grateful for! I am looking forward to discovering all that 2021 has to offer me!

I wish you a Wonderful New Year. May it bring you everything your heart desires!

Til next time, Be You & Be Happy!

Siggy
