We’ve all heard sayings about how life can change in an instant. I’ve been around for a while now and I have experienced this many times. Of course, being an Army wife for a couple of decades will afford one several “life changes in an instant” moments. I find myself there again now.
My brother Todd was in a motorcycle accident 2 months ago today. He has traumatic brain injury as well as several broken bones some of which will take another month to heal. My brother and my family need me. I have been in the Midwest for the past 2 months, taking turns with a small circle of us who sit with Todd every day. Only one person can visit per day because of the pandemic. He cannot speak for himself and has only us to ensure he’s getting the care he needs. It has been challenging and stressful. I’m blessed to be able to be here for him. My dear husband and I have decided to relocate to my hometown so that I can be here for Todd for as long as he needs me, which we expect to be a long time, maybe years. Once again, our lives are changing in an instant!
I loved living in Arizona, and I loved my beautiful home. I love adventure too, so I choose to view this as an adventure. An opportunity to find another home, experience a different climate, and be closer to family! My husband and I love to travel so I expect there will be visits back to see our Arizona family and friends! Being happy is about choices, and I choose to be happy. Right now, being able to help care for my brother makes me happy.
What does this mean for Angel Whispers Art? Without a doubt, my business plans for this year and next require a few adjustments. I will not be teaching live Zoom classes as often as I’d planned. I will continue to offer my monthly Tangled Up Together or TUT mini workshops. They may be the only live teaching opportunity I’ll have for some time as I continue to care for Todd and relocate to Iowa.
I’ve wanted to create class videos and now I have a compelling reason to do it. So, if you are interested in video classes that you can watch on your schedule, you will be happy to see my first video in the shop now! It’s the video from the September TUT. And there will be more, so keep checking the shop!
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! So, I created a fun class for the October TUT. I call it “A Hollis Halloween”. Hollis is a great tangle for creating trees! And I’ve put a twist on a couple of tangles to give them a “spooky” vibe. I hope you’ll join me for this fun class on Saturday October 30. We’ll be starting at Noon in the Midwest (Central Time) or UTC/GMT -5. If the timing is not good for you, it’ll be in the shop after class as a video to purchase.
It’s hard to believe it’s nearly the end of October! In Arizona, the weather is beautiful and here in the Midwest trees are losing their leaves and the colors are fading. We’ve already had frost and I don’t have a scraper for my windshield yet! I’m gonna need a warmer coat!
