I’m an artist, a Certified Zentangle Teacher, and a Mid Century Modern gal. I was born in the 50’s and graduated High School in the 70’s. So Mid Century Modern designs bring me back to my childhood.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eWhat exactly is Mid Century Modern Design? It depends on who you ask. In general, it is used to describe designs that emerged after WW2 in the 1940s through the 1970s. There are lots of thoughts on why design moved in this direction, but I like to think it was a rebellion of sorts. The war brought rationing and darkness. And I see that contrasted with bright colors and simple geometric shapes of Mid Century Modern or Mid Mod designs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eDuring the 1960’s we experienced space travel. It captivated us and we all watched the skies at night to catch a glimpse of a satellite, or even a manned spaceship! This aspect of Mid Mod designs is what I like to call Atomic Art. And in this class, we’re drawing Atomic Angels.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eIn this video, we’ll draw 2 angels using tangles that have a Mid Mod feel. I have selected 5 tangles for this project, and although I do have a template for you, I prefer to draw each angel without a template. I just think hand drawing helps give each angel her own personality!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eZentangle Phi tiles measure approximately 3 x 5 inches (3.1 x 5 in or 7.9 x 12.7 cm) Please use what you have! You can even do this project in black and white.
