You ARE creative. Let me inspire you!
When there is a month with 5 weeks, Paper Smooches’ Sparks Challenge is “Anything Goes”. Yes, that means you can do anything that you want to!
Today is the last day to post something for the challenge and here is what I will be submitting.
I used my new PS stamps Needle Little Love, My Mind’s Eye patterned paper, and Bazzil cardstock.
I made 4 cards. The first 2 I really didn’t like. This is the 3rd. It was a lesson for me in design development. I had an idea when I started to create a square with the stitching and put one of the sewing notion stamps inside. I decided on the sewing machine and I used the patterned paper to dress it up. When I had all my pieces ready to assemble for the first card I thought the pieces needed an edge to stand out so I inked them. I didn’t like that because it just made it look dirty. I used craft cardstock for the first card. For the second card I used cream cardstock but I didn’t ink the edges. Something was still missing. When I decided to use colored cardstock the design finally started to work. I liked this card and when I made the fourth card I added another scalloped strip and I like it better, but I prefer the colors in the card above which is why I decided to submit it instead. You can the fourth card below.
Update: I found a challenge that I will be submitting the fourth card to. This challange is “New Something” at Simon Says Stamp and since these are my new stamps it’s perfect for the challenge!
I actually thought I was going to make a set of 4 cards when I started this project but instead I learned something about the creative process and that’s awesome!
I’m off to post my challenge submission. Have a wonderful day!
