Handmade Gifts Make Me Smile!

Do you love to give handmade gifts? Do you love to get them? I answer “YES” to both! I created sets of handmade note cards to send to some special ladies back in my home town. My Great Aunt Eleanor is one of those beautiful ladies. She always enjoys my cards and she comes from a generation where handwritten letters and notes that traveled via snail mail was the only way to stay connected with the people you cared about.

I made sets of 6 note cards for gifts and each set has a coordinating note card that I used to write my note to the special lady receiving the gift. I love to make cards and I enjoy giving them as gifts. With Mother’s Day coming up next month it may be the perfect opportunity to put a set of cards together for all those beautiful ladies in your lives, including your Mom! This set is simple and still has embellishments that add interest. I like to decorate the inside of the cards too. I think it just adds a nice touch when you open the card.

I used Neenah Classic Natural White 80# cardstock and patterned paper pads from Basic Grey so that the cards all coordinate easily. I also used Paper Smooches Scripty Sayings stamps, Paper Smooches Butterfly Duet Dies, Simon Says Stamp Dot Scallop Border Wafer die, and Stitched Scallop Basic Edges Die-Namics by My Favorite Things to make these cards.
