ScrapGirls' and Digital Recipe Cards

I have been a member of the Scrap Girls messageboard since February 2008. Wow! That seems like a long time! Scrap Girls is a site I discovered when I started exploring digital scrapbooking. I’ve been making cards and papercrafts for, well, let’s just say a really long time now, and I liked the idea of scrapbooking, but when I started making scrapbook pages I became overwhelmed. How on earth was I going to fill a 12×12 page? After only a couple of paper pages I just decided I didn’t like it. I found a Creating Keepsakes magazine about digital scrapbooking and I was intrigued. I didn’t know what I was doing so I scoured sources for freebies and that is what led me to Scrap Girls.

One of the first things I got involved with at Scrap Girls was the monthly recipe swap. Each month there is a new theme and we create 4×6 digital recipe cards to share. I have only missed one month since the first one I did in April 2008 and that was a December cookie recipe card swap (it is now one of my favorite swaps!).

This month the theme was appetizers or something you would bring to a party. I like to find new recipes for the swap and this month I found a recipe for baked chicken wings. I tested the recipe before I made the card and it was YUMMY! So I thought I’d share the recipe with all of you so here it is:

This card was created in PSE 10 (Photoshop Elements 10) using: Angie Briggs’ ScrapSimple Digital Layout Album Templates: 4×6 Cook It, Sarah Batdorf’s ScrapSimple Tools – Styles: Basic Shadows 6501, Syndee Nuckles’ Flea Market Collection Biggie, Amanda Fraijo-Tobin’s ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates: Pulled Stitches, and Amanda Fraijo-Tobin’s ScrapSimple Tools – Styles: Stitching 6401 Mini, all are available in the Scrap Girls Boutique. The font I used is LD Soft Serif and it is available at ScrapNFonts as part of the School Spectacular Font Set.

I shared my recipe card for Pumpkin Bars in a recent post Pumpkin Bars and Christmas Cards. Check out my Scrapbooking Gallery to see more recipe cards and digital scrapbook pages.

If you are interested in digital scrapbooking I highly recommend that you take a peek at the Scrap Girls website. ScrapNFonts is one of my favorite sites for fonts. I should warn you that both can be very addictive!

If you try the recipe I hope you enjoy it! I love to hear from you so let me know what you think!

Til next time
