Last week I learned that someone I care about very much, my Aunt Geraldine, was diagnosed with breast cancer. My mother died nearly 20 years ago from this disease. It has been on my mind all week and so I added some pages to my art journal to reflect this. This is the beginning of my Aunt’s journey and the one word that whispers to me above all others is Hope.
I wanted to keep this art journal entry simple. I am new to this and I find myself overthinking the process and as a result I spend too much time and effort starting over by covering up and layering more until I get something I like. What you find on these pages is a watercolor background with a single color. Tattered Angels Shimmer Mist sprayed over a mask I created by punching cardboard from a cereal box with a butterfly punch. I added a couple of the punched butterflies. I stamped more butterflies with a new Stamp-It Austrailia stamp from Crafter’s Companion. I used Stickles to give it some sparkle. I found a quote I love and added the quote and lots of words.
